DIY

Mom's new sewing machine has presented an occasion for a new wedding project: handmade table runners for the reception! We figured it would be easy enough to make rectangular table runners to dress our mix of round and rectangular tables. I am now on a mission to find fabrics that a: do not clash with the bridesmaid dresses, b: are not insanely expensive, and c: have some form of purple and or aqua in them. Since Chris is in Philly this weekend to do the Broad Street Run, I'm planning full days of shopping for fabrics and miscellaneous items (wait, isn't that what I do every day?)

My stops, so far, are as follows:

1. Soho Purl- I know I have talked about this store before, but they just have the most beautiful fabrics, and I think some of them may work! Case in point:

2. Pearl River Mart- One of my favorite stores in New York, and the best place to get turquoise Foo Dogs (I love them, I don't know why). I might look for some paper lanterns, fans, parasols, and favors...you never know what you will find there...
3. Zarin Fabrics- only to spy on Jill Zarin. But seriously, does anyone (ahem, Hannah) want to go with me??
