The Dress

So, when I first started looking for my dress, I knew I wanted something unconventional (surprise). I didn't want strapless, didn't want a lot of poof, and wanted it to be a combination of fashion-forward, and yet classic, so that I wouldn't look back at pictures and wonder what I had been thinking?!?! Basically, I kept coming back to Lela Rose. Her dresses are feminine but not too frilly, and very architectural and structured. Being an interior designer, I am definitely all about the fabrics, and hers are amazing and unexpected-silk faille, cotton cording, handmade lace, muslin, etc. Let's just say this- I have now bought TWO of her dresses. The first one, I got a good deal on, but the second one was the one I wanted all along, the one I tore about of magazines about 10 times, and at $10,000, thought was a little insanely priced for a dress you wear ONE day. So, you can imagine my shock when, while I was in Nashville over Christmas, I went to this little designer discount store, and happened to find THAT dress, in my size, for a deal so unbelievable that I couldn't turn it down. I'm now trying to find a good home for the first dress- and while I do love that one, this new dress is just ME. It absolutely couldn't be more perfect.

Hint- one of these is the old one, and one is the new!
